SRTUSA INSIDER: IDAHO RALLY EDITION
IDAHO RALLY INTERNATIONAL 2018 PREVIEW
Welcome to round 6 of 7 of the 2018 ARA Championship, the Idaho Rally International in Boise and Idaho City, ID.  This is the first year the Idaho Rally has been run as a national level event, which means none of the SRTUSA drivers have any experience at this rally, so the team is literally starting out the rally with a clean sheet of notes. David Higgins and Craig Drew have a great chance of securing the championship mathematically at this rally while the Rallycross regular Patrik Sandell with his co-driver Per Almkvist will be back and aiming to earn their second rally win of the season. Stages are expected to be amazing with a combination of technical, tight, twisty, blind corners with wide-open fast areas and elevation changes. Spectator spots are said to be great with many fun activities planned around this rally.

SRTUSA DRIVERS’ QUOTES

DAVID HIGGINS #75 SUBARU WRX STI

“Really looking forward to this event as it’s completely new and an area I have never been. One of the many joys of being a pro driver is the places you get to visit. It’s also nice having a new event and due to this there is very little prep regarding watching on board videos from previous years so I’m enjoying the extra time. Recce will be critical as we need to make new pacenotes. It’s also going to be strange having no knowledge of how tire wear will be or what set up we need. The Championship is getting to a critical situation so I really want to get that sorted if possible to take pressure off the last round.”

PATRIK SANDELL
 #18 SUBARU WRX
“I’m very excited that Subaru gave me the opportunity to do some more rallies this year. We won the first one so we will try and do  the same here but it will not be easy! I don’t know much about this rally or Idaho as I’ve never been there but I have only heard good things about the rally so I’m super excited. It’s a new rally for everyone so that’s good for me as we all will have to start from a blank paper on pacenotes. Per will be back in the seat next to me in the car. We have done many rallies together and I know he’s been doing everything he can to come as prepared as much as possible.”
